2015 Nutcracker Season

Dear Fellow Arts Educator,

As part of the Greater Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia community, I am always looking for ways to engage our children’s love of art and music whenever possible.

One way is to provide more music, dance and theatrical experiences! We hope you will consider joining us for this special opportunity.

The National Ballet’s performance of “The Nutcracker” will be held on December11,14,15,16. It will begin precisely at 10:30 a.m.  Everyone needs to be seated by 10:15 a.m. Schools will be ushered

into the auditorium no earlier than 10:00 a. m. Dismissal from the theater will be school by school,

first the walkers, then the bus riders, then the van riders.  We will do our best to clear the hall within

20 minutes; however safety is our first priority.

(Performance runs 2 hours with one 15 minute intermission)

We have done the following:

Prepared lesson plans for use in the classroom. Including: -Summary of the ballet -History of the composer and choreographer

-A lesson in theatre etiquette

- And a final survey for both students and teachers.(Available at www.nationalballet.com  Arts in Education .)
