These examinations are internationally recognized. NBS offers classes for all ages through the Diploma levels, and classes to train ballet teachers. NBS has trained many ballet instructors in this area. NBS also offer classes for teens and adults who wish to enrich their life through the experience of ballet.
Instructors of NBS are highly qualified. Pamela Moore is a permanent examiner of the CCA, as well as Vice Chair of the CCA Board of Examiners. Kimmary MacLean, Cara Schrack and Elizabeth MacLean specialize in the training of the young children – Creative Movement through Grade 3 offering a nurturing environment while developing the technical and mental skills required to progress in the art. Kirsten Koerner instructs the Teen/Adult classes in addition to working with all levels of children. Jessica Stibick joins the faculty this year having graduated from the NBS holding the Maestro Enrico Cecchetti Diploma. Miss Stibick is a principal dancer with the National Ballet Company and is a guest artist throughout the U.S.
Student of NBS participate in professional performances of the NBC. These performance provide valuable experience in the lively arts for school children at an affordable cost.
Personal Comments:
Many parents have expressed the appreciation of the discipline received by students of the NBS. Many of them have been disappointed by dance studios that are based on competitions that have huge costs, development of an unfriendly competitive environment, training only competing students, lack of fundamental training etc. In NBS, all students have the opportunity to receive certificates for their ballet skill and knowledge. Through performances, students learn to work together and help each other. Parents also develop friendship through various activities organized by Friends of the National Ballet (FNB).
